"A  good teacher is like a candle-it consumes itself to light the way for others."

by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

Education

Sonoma State University: BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Social Science and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential

Background

I am originally from southern California, however, Sonoma County has been my home for the past 13 years. Throughout the last 12 years, I have taught 1-6 grades at both international and Bay Area schools. As an educator, I believe in fostering the whole child and that every student should be internationally-minded. In the classroom, I set high expectations for all students. Rising to the challenge helps students gain independence. This allows students to become problem solvers by taking risks, making mistakes, and building confidence. I encourage critical thinking, promote an ethic of caring and understanding, and facilitate the acquisition of lifelong learning skills. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family at Sonoma County regional parks, cooking, and gardening.
